The admittance of a circuit tells us how easily current flows. It is defined as the inverse of impedance. The unit of admittance is the siemens and the symbol is S. If Z is impedance,
Z = R+j(XL-XC)
and Y is admittance, then
Y = 1/Z
= 1/R+j(1/XC-1/XL)
